For agencies, consultants, freelancers

Present live dashboards without showing other clients’ data

Agencies and consultants: show one client their numbers while every other client’s name, spend and results stay blurred. Works in any meeting tool.

Updated

Agency tools are rarely built for screen sharing. An ad manager, analytics property or project board usually holds every client you work with, side by side. Present one client’s results and the others are right there: account names in a dropdown, spend in a comparison table, a teammate’s comment about a different brand.

Exporting screenshots into slides avoids that, but it throws away what makes a live review useful: clicking into a campaign when the client asks a question. BlurSite lets you keep the live dashboard and hide everything that isn’t theirs.

Where other clients’ data shows up

  • Account switchers and dropdowns in Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics and similar tools.
  • Multi-client tables: CRM pipelines, invoices, project boards and reporting dashboards.
  • Notifications and inbox previews that pop up mid-call with another client’s name in them.
  • Browser chrome: bookmarks bars and tab titles named after other clients.

Each of these can reveal who else you work with and what they spend, which is a confidentiality problem as well as an awkward moment.

Setting up a client-safe view

  1. Before the call, open the dashboards you’ll present.
  2. Click each row, card or label that belongs to another client to blur it. Use area blur for a whole section, such as a comparison table.
  3. Turn on keep blur for each page. The next time you open that URL, the same items are hidden again, so your recurring monthly review is ready in seconds.
  4. Keep the privacy curtain (⌥⇧H) in mind: it covers the whole page instantly if you click somewhere you didn’t plan to.
  5. Turn on presentation mode to hide BlurSite’s own toolbars while you share.

Why it matters for agencies

Clients assume their numbers are kept private. Seeing a competitor’s logo in your account list, even for a second, makes them wonder who sees theirs. Blurring in place lets you run the review in the real tool, answer questions live, and still never show anything that isn’t theirs.

It also saves preparation time. Without it, each review means duplicating dashboards per client or building slides from screenshots. With saved blurs, the preparation is done once per page.

Mistakes to avoid on client calls

  • Opening the account switcher live. Switch to the right client before you start sharing, not during the call.
  • Searching on screen. Autocomplete suggestions often list other clients’ names. Type into the search box before you share, or blur the suggestion area.
  • Forgetting new pages. Saved blurs apply to the pages you set up. A report you open for the first time on the call hasn’t been prepared, so check it before you click into it.
  • Sharing the whole screen. Desktop notifications from Slack or email can name other clients. Share one tab instead.

Using it across a team

The Startup plan covers up to 10 active browsers on one license, so account managers can all present from their own browsers.

Frequently asked questions

Does the client see that something is blurred?
Yes. Blurred areas look frosted, so it’s clear something is hidden on purpose, which most clients read as care for confidentiality.
Does it work in Zoom, Google Meet and Teams?
Yes. The blur is applied to the webpage, so it appears in any meeting or screen-sharing tool.
Can I prepare blurs once and reuse them every month?
Yes. Turn on keep blur for each dashboard URL and the blurs come back whenever you open it.
