How to Use BlurSite: A Complete Walkthrough

BlurSite is a browser extension that blurs anything on a web page, so you can screen share, record or present without exposing private information. This guide covers every feature in the order you’ll probably use them.
Install and activate
BlurSite runs on Chromium browsers: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi and Opera. After you install it, open the extension popup and paste the license key from your purchase email (it looks like BM-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). You can manage your license and devices from the dashboard. If you lose the key, use license recovery.
Click blur
Click the extension icon, then move your mouse over the page. Elements are highlighted as you hover. Click one and it’s blurred: a table row, a profile card, an email address, a whole sidebar. This is the fastest way to hide things that sit in their own box on the page.
Area blur
Sometimes what you want to hide isn’t a neat element: part of a chart, a region of a canvas, a few lines of a document. Area blur lets you drag a rectangle over any part of the page and blur exactly that region.
Keep
By default, blurs last until you reload the page. Turn on Keep and BlurSite remembers your blurs for that URL, so they come back after reloads and on your next visit. This is ideal for dashboards and admin panels you share every week.
Intensity and Clear all
The intensity slider controls how strong the blur is. Use a softer blur when you just want to reduce distraction and a strong one for anything confidential. Clear all removes every blur on the current page.
Works in every meeting tool
The blur is applied to the page itself, not added by the meeting app. That means it shows up the same way in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Loom, OBS and any screen recorder, as long as you’re sharing the browser window or your screen.
Moving to a new computer
Your plan includes a set number of active browsers. To switch machines, go to Dashboard → License & devices and deactivate the old browser. The slot frees up immediately.
